Prem Ratan Dhan Payo story is adaptation of the book published 151 years ago

Post Date:

Diwali Release, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has adapted the story from 151 years ago The Prisoner of Zenda written by Anthony Hope. The book was published in 1894 and it is not the first time that any Indian film story is based on it. The 1961 Bengali film, Jhinder Bondi (The Prisoner of Jhind) is the first Indian adaptation of the film.

Trailer of the film shows Salman playing double role in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. In the book, the story moves around the kingdom of Ruritania which is ruled by one family. The to-be king is drugged right before his coronation ceremony by other opponents to the rightful bloodline and if the coronation ceremony is delayed then other political forces will cease control of the kingdom who do not have decent plans.

It is apparent from Neil Nitin Mukesh's grave and grumpy behaviour that he is the royal opponent to Prem becoming the king of the kingdom.

These are our speculations, rest we leave it on you to decide whether it is an adaptation of The Prisoner of Zenda or not.
